LAVIEDEERIC’s path to becoming a music producer and recording artist is anything but conventional. Growing up with West African roots, LAVIEDEERIC faced a unique set of cultural expectations, where career paths like medicine, law, or engineering were strongly encouraged. But his love for music couldn’t be ignored, and it would ultimately lead him down a different path—a journey of self-discovery, perseverance, and a commitment to staying true to his passion.

LAVIEDEERIC’s fascination with music began early. As a kid, he found joy in choir and band, where he first experienced the power of creating something beautiful with others. Yet, despite his passion, he didn’t see music as a realistic career choice; it was simply something he loved.

Everything changed when he went to Drexel University, where he was introduced to a community of peers studying music production and related fields. For the first time, LAVIEDEERIC realized that music could be more than a hobby—it could be his career.

Inspired by artists like Martin Garrix, LAVIEDEERIC dove headfirst into music production. He became self-taught, dedicating long hours to mastering his craft in the solitude of his dorm room. With every beat he produced and every track he worked on, his commitment to a life in music grew more substantial. This intense focus and self-discipline laid the groundwork for a career in the music industry, built on authenticity and a fearless approach to experimentation.

Throughout his journey, LAVIEDEERIC has learned to tap into vulnerability as a source of strength. The ups and downs of producing music—the “beat blocks,” the creative highs and lows—taught him the value of staying genuine. Music, he discovered, isn’t just about catchy melodies or popular trends. It’s a way to connect deeply with others by putting himself into his work. For LAVIEDEERIC, true artistry is about allowing his audience to see his authentic self beyond the polished persona.

But LAVIEDEERIC’s path hasn’t been without challenges, especially as a West African pursuing an unconventional career. Like many, he felt the pull of cultural expectations, and at one point, he even started pre-med studies. Shifting away from this well-worn path wasn’t easy, but he felt driven to honor his love for music, even when facing financial and emotional uncertainties. His decision to follow music over more “traditional” careers speaks to the resilience it took to choose passion over societal approval—a choice many creatives can relate to.

After some time in a corporate job, LAVIEDEERIC decided to go all-in on his music. He moved to Los Angeles, intending to spend just a short stint in the city, but the creative energy of the West Coast pulled him in. Days turned into years, and LA became his new home—where he could fully explore the artistic freedom he had been craving. Here, LAVIEDEERIC encountered a stark contrast to his previous work in New York’s label scene, where structure and control were the norms. LA’s indie, collaborative environment allowed him to work closely with established artists and take ownership of his sound, a liberating and formative experience.

As he navigated the music scenes on both coasts, LAVIEDEERIC also learned the ins and outs of the business side of music. Today, he encourages young artists to think of themselves as CEOs of their brands. He knew that relying solely on a label isn’t the only path to success; artists need a solid business foundation and foresight to manage their careers independently. This experience taught him that creative freedom often comes with responsibility; for LAVIEDEERIC, that’s a trade-off he willingly embraces.

At a personal level, LAVIEDEERIC’s journey in music has been as much about healing as it has been about success. Following a period of loss, he returned to his art with a new depth and sense of purpose. One of his most personal tracks, “Back From the Dead,” symbolizes his emotional comeback, a testament to music’s power to heal and renew. It marked the beginning of intense creativity, during which time he explored new styles, launched a freestyle series, and started work on an EP.

Through it all, LAVIEDEERIC has come to believe in the importance of self-discipline, consistency, and fierce inner confidence. For him, true resilience is built from within, unaffected by external validation. This mindset fuels his vision for the future—not just for his music but for helping other artists find their footing in the industry. He dreams of expanding his reach, creating a platform for emerging voices in cities nationwide, and providing a space for others to share their stories and insights.

LAVIEDEERIC’s life journey is a powerful reminder of what it means to follow your passion, stay authentic, and embrace vulnerability in pursuing creative excellence. Whether you’re an artist facing cultural expectations or simply someone looking for inspiration, his story speaks to the courage it takes to pursue a path defined not by others but by yourself. For LAVIEDEERIC, music is more than a career; it’s a way of life—a journey of resilience, reinvention, and staying true to what matters most.
